Terms of use

Plain terms without legal padding: what you get, what you are responsible for, what we are responsible for, and what happens when either side stops.

What the service is

WidgetChat is a live chat for websites: a widget on the page, incoming messages in Telegram, WhatsApp and MAX, a dashboard with the settings and a public API. The service belongs to BOZEX and runs as a hosted service: the widget code runs in the visitor's browser, the conversations are stored on our side.

By using the service — creating an account, putting the widget on a site or calling the API — you accept these terms. If you disagree with them, the service is not for you.

What it costs

Nothing at the moment: there is no payment, no plans and no countdown. This is an open launch, not a trial period.

Paid plans may appear later. We will say so in advance and will not switch off a working chat overnight: what you already rely on should not stop because of our pricing decision.

What you are responsible for

  • The content of the conversation — Your people answer, in your name. We do not take part in the conversation and are not responsible for what is said in it.
  • Telling your visitors — The widget remembers the visitor in their browser and passes us what they wrote. Your own privacy policy has to say so.
  • Keeping the keys safe — An API key and a bot token open the whole conversation history of the site. A leaked key is revoked in the dashboard, not argued about.
  • Lawful use — Unsolicited messaging, misleading visitors, other people's data and content banned by law are a reason to close access without notice.

What we are responsible for

We keep the service running and fix breakages quickly, but a free service comes without a promised uptime (no SLA). The service is provided as is: we are not liable for lost profit or for the consequences of a message that arrived late.

We do not read customer conversations out of curiosity, do not sell them and do not hand them to third parties, except for the cases named in the privacy policy or required by law. Staff access to the content happens only on the account owner's request and only to fix a fault.

Data and deletion

Which data is processed, on what grounds and for how long is described in the privacy policy. Visitor requests for deletion are handled through the same document.

Deleting a site in the dashboard deletes its conversations too. Removing the plugin or the widget snippet from the page does not touch them: they are stored with us, not on your site.

Ending the relationship

You stop whenever you like: remove the widget code and delete the site in the dashboard. No application and no notice period.

We may close access if the service is used for something unlawful or harms other customers — for example creates load that gets in their way. If the reason is not a violation, we warn you in advance and let you export the conversations through the API.

Changes to these terms

This page can change: it carries an update date, and significant changes are announced in the dashboard. Continuing to use the service after the announcement means you accept the new version.

For anything on this page, write to us in the support chat on this site.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a contract?

These are the terms of use of a hosted service. A separate contract for companies is possible — write to support.

Is there an uptime guarantee?

A free service comes without a promised uptime. We keep the service running and fix breakages, but we take no SLA obligations.

What happens to my conversations if I stop using the service?

They stay in the dashboard until you delete the site. Deleting the site removes them; before that they can be exported through the public API.

Can access be closed without a reason?

Not without a reason. There are two: breaking the law and harming other customers. In every other case we warn you first.
